Too Faced Born This Way Foundation Review - Swatches

Hi there!

I was asked if I was interested in trying out the new Too Face Born This Way foundation and of course as any makeup addict I said yes!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation : (L-R) Porcelain, Ivory, Vanilla, Nude, Warm Nude, Light Beige, Natural, Warm Beige, Sand, Golden, Honey and Caramel.
*The frost of the bottle can make it difficult to show what the color in the bottle looks like in direct light!*

When you have dry skin, full coverage foundations can be a nightmare - dry patches, feeling of wearing a mask - but this foundation is 100% the opposite!

June 15: This foundation has been available on the Too Faced website.
July 15: It will be available in stores - Sephora

It is $39US, 52$CA for 1oz of product.

Too Face Born This Way - Nude (wet/dry) and Porcelain (wet/dry)

As you can see the colors tend to dry a shade darker. I personally can use Porcelain (which I choose to in my video and pictures here!) but Nude is also a great match as it has a cool undertone!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Colors available for the Too Faced Born This Way foundation:

Porcelain - light neutral shade
Ivory - Fair with yellow undertone
Vanilla- Light with neutral-yellow undertone
Nude : Light with pink undertone
Warm Nude: Light-medium neutral
Light Beige light medium neutral to yellow undertone
Natural Beige: Medium with golden undertone
Warm Beige: Tan with golden undertone
Sand: Medium-Tan with yellow undertone
Golden: Tan with neutral pink undertone (red)
Honey:  Tan with neutral to golden undertone
Caramel: Tan-Deep neutral to red undertone

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation : (L-R) Porcelain, Ivory, Vanilla, Nude, Warm Nude, Light Beige, Natural, Warm Beige, Sand, Golden, Honey and Caramel.

Cons: Right away you can notice the range of colors is missing a few things. First off, there's not many cool tone foundation and there is clearly a need for a lighter shade with a cool undertone!
Porcelain has a neutral undertone and is darker than Ivory and would probably be between Nw15-20 in Mac - clearly not light enough!

Second, just as obvious there's a lack of shades for WOC! The only one that can work is the last one and it clearly won't work for everyone.

Considering it is a new release and Too Faced hasn't done many foundation we're hoping they will expand the range soon!

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation - Porcelain - Light Neutral

Pros: This foundation really impressed me. The packaging of pretty heavy frosty glass with the nice addition of gold looks beautiful! The fact that it has a pump wins some big points for me!

I've never experienced such a full coverage foundation that still feels lightweight and doesn't make my face looks dry! It lasted all day and looked even natural in natural sunlight! It could be due to the foundation containing Hyaluronic Acid and Coconut water.

Overall, if you can find a color in the range, I would recommend it if you're still looking for a natural medium to full coverage! I know I'm not disappointed with it - it actually makes me second guess myself about the Nars All Day luminous foundation (I'll have to try that again!).

Too Faced Born This Way in Porcelain Before/After

Em :)

Too Faced sent me the foundation to review. I was not compensated for this post. As always my opinions are my own and are honest :)

  1. I am a NC15 on mac - although is a little bit darker for me. I use Buff from Revlon Colorstay foundation and it's a good shade for me.
Do you think Ivory would suit my skin or it still is darker?

I'm sorry for asking this, but in Portugal we still don't have this foundation and I would like to have an idea if I would purchase it or not.

BTW, love your videos :* :*

    2. Thank you :)
That's the one I was thinking about, mainly because of the undertone.

  4. I was so disappointed when I swatched Ivory in the store today and saw how yellow it was. I'm very pale - a NW10 in MAC - so I'm guessing I just won't have a match in the range. So sad about it because I've heard great things about the formula.

I know too Faced has more shades in their website and they said they will have 6 more shades this year... Maybe they will have your perfect match :)
